A Very Happy Anniversary

Today is the one year anniversary of my quitting smoking - hooray!!!! I am a joyful and healthy nonsmoker. I am very proud of myself to have taken the huge step to health and independence from nicotine addiction.

I feel good - I feel confident that I can achieve any goal I set for myself. I consciously began my quit smoking on Tom's birthdate as a gift to him and make this date have other meanings for me. It is a celebratory day - my quit date.

It is also has become a date to begin new things - life changes that I have either been struggling with or really want to put into being in my life. So, today - exercise, regular, enjoyable exercise is my challenge for this year. I do so well and then I "fall off the wagon" ----- this year, I will put exercise into my life as a routine - like brushing my teeth.

April 23 - a day of new beginnings. A day to celebrate, I did it!!!!!!

  3. Congratulations on the quitting smoking, on loving yourself enough to do that. I have heard it's the hardest addiction to break and am very happy you did it to give yourself a healthier old age.

  5. Yippppeeeeee....happy anniversary, girl!

I need exercise, too - but it hurts these joints and muscles enough that I can't seem to stay on task. I will try, too! Every little bit helps. :))

  6. Congrats Suzann!
Giving up is so hard...I've made up my mind to do it this year. Good idea for the date: it is a lovely gift to both him and yourself.

  7. It so great to hear you set up personal goals, and suceed. As we say: It's your and only your descission to suceed or not. It's so many exercises to choose among these days. But I never choose indoor gym's. I like to exercise outdoors. Or if indoor - swimming, which is good for the whole body. And several ways to exercise as well. Some do regular "morning" swimming a couple of days a week. Then you learn to know other people, that do the same on regular basis. As far as I know, walking is not a common trim in USA - which it is here. We do have in our neighbourhood miles of pedestrian walkways (also for bikes) - no cars allowed...

Wish you the very best for a new years ambitions.

  9. Good for you. My personal philosophy is that that when we're able to truly forget or comfortably ignore the anniversary date of breaking any addiction, it's truly out of our mind; but maybe that doesn't work for everybody. Probably the professionals who work with people on this may not share my view. Whatever works is what really matters. ;-)
