Tans and Toes
Just bragging I guess - this is last night after dinner on the deck. Newly pedicured toes and relaxation. Thought I knew how much I needed to have a break - only had a clue.
Today J and I had a quiet day at home. Me at 59 -she at 58 (and retired last June) - thinking about our futures - what lies ahead. What are our dreams and how will we realize those ambitions. Naming our values and acknowledging the places we are stuck right now.
How precious to have a friend of 40+ years - we have loved one another and stood witness to the joys and heartbreak of a lifetime - as we continue to do.
Next steps - hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Oh, you devil! Even your feet look happy. Absorb those wonderful rays lady!
ReplyDeletei have a friend of 40+ years, and there is no one on earth who understands me and/or my life better except perhaps my biological sister. sharing history is indeed a special connection. neither miles nor time have changed anything about the way we connect or love each other. friendships like this are treasures, and we are very fortunate to be among those who have such enduring relationships. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words at Sacred Ordinary. I have added you to my blogroll. I see you are widowed and beginning again--and again--and again. That's what life seems to constantly be. I'll read more in your archives when I have time, but I did want you to know that I have "former" family in St. Paul and have spent a lot of time in your city and state. Love it except for the dead of winter.
