FREEDOM

As many of you know, I am very proud that I quit smoking in 2006. In the midst of very dark days of grief and loneliness I set a goal for health and life. The day I chose to quit was Tom's Birthday - or the anniversary of Tom's birth. A gift to him - a gift to my children - a gift to myself. Now April 23 is a day to remember how fortunate I was to have him in my life and also to celebrate my liberation from nicotine addiction.

One of the most amazing supports during my journey to ditch ciggies was QuitNet, an online support and education site for those who are thinking about, actively engaged in or have already quit smoking. It really made a difference for me. If you are getting ready to or are in the process of kicking the habit - drop on by - QuitNet works!!

I will never smoke again - how do I know? I will never have one puff!! I am liberated. Here are my quit statistics, which I received this morning from QuitNet.

I choose Life.

  3. Suzann....I can't tell you how in awe I am of your achievement. I have never been a smoker, so I don't know 'first hand' how terribly hard it is to quit (I have the food issue thing instead); but I have had A LOT of smokers in my life that have been very close to me...so I certainly have seen it up close enough. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. Congratulations sweetie!!! You have done a wonderful thing for yourself and your health...and you are such a cutie too. I know your family must be very happy that you made that decision. Cheers my sweet friend.... Love, Joy
