Here I am - Monday evening.  Sucking it all in.  Mourning the loss of a dream - knowing that this was the best action I could take.

I am happy that I finally posted a photo of him ---- he is was so important in my life.  Saturday afternoon I told him that "we" were over.  I am sad but committed to myself and the future.

More to come...............................

  1. I'm so sorry. I know it hurts to let go of a hope for the future; yet I also know that it's good to let go of something that could never be.

Love to you, my friend -- and a real hug soon.

  2. I am sorry for the pain, but proud of you for your strength. We have to release a dream when it's not all it should be in order to get a dream that will be. It sounds like you are on your way.

  3. Hang in there. It's hard to let go, and embrace being single again. But, if this man didn't recognize what a gem you are, HE's lost an opportunity, even if he doesn't realize it now. A friend once told me, "Every relationship will fail until the one that doesn't." Helps me keep perspective, because like you, I've lost a connection (my first long term one since my husband died). But, last nail's in the coffin. Time to face new love, in new forms. Hugs to you.

  4. I'm right there beside you, in spirit, as you've been with me. It's hard. It sucks. It's depressing.
But it gets better. Because you/we did what was best ..... and in the end, that's the best you can do.
    Holding you close tonight,
