keep breathing. laugh as often as you can. give and accept kisses wherever they come from, even sloppy puppy kisses. feel each breath. you have always lead with your heart to me. feel the love that is around you and rejoice in it. fear is something worth understanding since it may come to us every so often and we need to be on speaking terms with it ~ a paraphrase of Oliver Wendell Holmes words. and above all, keep breathing. peace to you, friend.
ReplyDeleteFear is False Expectations Appearing Real; so never let it get a foothold. You don't have to rush this relationship. Let it unfold naturally. Good things don't have to be pushed. They can be savored with no expectations for the future or anything more than the beauty of the day.

Heading towards the 4th anniversary of meeting my second husband and I sometimes still listen for his breathing in the night. He had a heart attack over the summer and though I already was well aware of the fact that I could lose him as I lost my first husband, it was a sharp visceral reminder. And yet, I would rather love and take my chances on grief again than not. Statistically speaking, I am still more likely to be the widow again than the other way around, and I'm okay with that b/c it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteEventually you relax and the "what if's" settle down.
